GUNSTON SOCCER CLUB U11 PREMIER RED Seeking Players
The U11 GSC girls travel team would like to invite any girl born 8/1/98 or after to come kick with us this spring. We are looking for up to four girls to grow with our team, a travel team focusing on individual skill development in a fun and supportive environment. All practices are open tryouts as we build this team. We hold two 90 minute practices per week with optional weekly skill sessions and specialized goalkeeper training. We participate in two tournaments per season. If you live in Alexandria, Lorton, Woodbridge, Springfield or Mount Vernon and want to have fun learning the beautiful game of soccer, please contact Coach Sandy Michell at 703-989-8385 or sjminva@yahoo.com to attend practice and schedule a tryout.
GSC U-13 Boys Team Seeking Competitive Players
The Gunston Elite, a competitive and enjoyable team of U13 boys, is looking for three field players for the upcoming Spring 2010 season. Players should desire to grow individual and team skill and creativity.
The GSC Elite competes in the ODSL Division, practices twice per week in the Alexandria area, plays most of its games in the Fairfax County area, and participates in two tournaments per season. The team is coached by Wendell Bassett and Andrew Cheng. For additional information, contact bassettjr@hotmail.com.
Dough Raising Night
We have teamed up with Domino's Pizza to raise funds to support our scholarship program. Your family gets a great dinner every other Wednesday night, and our club benefits by being able to help additional players participate in our club.
Here's how it works. Order your pizza on Wednesday nights online or calling one of the participating locations on the flyer. This Wednesday October 21 is the first night. See the flyer for all the dates through 2010. Give the driver the “Proof-of-Purchase Form” which must accompany your payment. Gunston will not receive credit without this form. That's it!
Click here for the form. Thanks for your participation and enjoy Pizza Wednesday.
Goal Safety - Top Priority
Make sure before every practice that our goals and kickbacks are properly anchored. Goals and kickbacks MUST be locked when your team finishes using them or if you're team is the last team leaving the field. For more information, please see US Youth soccer website, http://www.usyouthsoccer.org/news/story.asp?story_id=619.
